Securing Funds from Trusts and Foundations in Higher Education

Event Details

Date:
31st March, 2011
Venue:
British Academy: London

LCACE are delighted to invite Partner academics and Brittish Academy Fellows to attend our information, discussion and networking event on the funding available from Trusts and Foundations, and their priorities for engagement in Higher Education today.

The event will begin with an overview from a Higher Education viewpoint of the funds available from Trusts and Foundations in the current climate. Followed by representatives from a range of Trusts and Foundations who will outline the ways in which they work with Higher Education and the kinds of research and collaborative projects they support, with an emphasis on the arts.

It will also provide case-studies from academics or practitioners who have recently received Trust or Foundation support. Finally, the event will create a forum to find out about the future priorities of the presenting organisations.

It will provide a timely opportunity for academics and other members of university staff to: access an overview of some key trusts and foundations priorities, find out about trusts or foundations supported research projects taking place and participate in discussion and network with colleagues.

Speakers will include: Dr Ken Emond (Head of Research Awards, The British Academy), Jean Cater (Assistant Director, The Leverhulme Trust) Dale Cooper (Head of Trusts and Foundations fundraising at King’s College, London) Professor Janet Harbord (QMUL, recipient of a Leverhulme Award) and Professor Brian Hurwitz (KCL, recipient of a Wellcome Trust award)

Please note that due to limited spaces, this event is open to academics and staff from LCACE partner institutions only.
