Event Details

12th March, 2015
St George the Martyr, Borough
£10, £5 students

Celebrate opera’s Tragic Heroines with concert performances of Giacomo Carissimi’s Jephte and Henry Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas. Both significant Baroque works in their own right, Jephte is an important example of mid-17th century oratorio form, whereas Dido and Aeneas is widely considered to be the foremost theatrical work in British composer history.
