Action Space Inflatable

Event Details

Date:
14th October, 2015
Time:
14.00 to 19.30
End Date:
15th October, 2015
Venue:
Chelsea College of Arts, Rootstein Hopkins Parade Ground, SW1P 4JU

Join us for an exciting programme of workshops, performance, screenings and discussion, held inside a large inflatable structure installed in the Rootstein Hopkins Parade Ground at Chelsea College of Arts.  The event will explore the political potential of art and relate specifically to social engagement, collaboration and pedagogy.

The inflatable is a re-versioning of pneumatic structures built by Action Space, a voluntary association of artists operating in the late 1960s and ‘70s. Over two days, members from historical radical community arts groups – such as Action Space, Inter-Action and Artist Placement Group (APG) – will explore the relevance of community arts programmes of the ‘70s and ‘80s to contemporary artistic discourse, practice and pedagogy.

This event is part of CCW Graduate School’s public programme.
